This is hilarious! I read all three parts in one sitting! Even though I assume Dale is everyone’s favorite, he isn’t mine. The squire is a legend! 😆 The humor also gives me vibes of the French movie Les Visiteurs, not sure if you’ve seen it. Brilliant, and thanks for the laughs 😂
I try to post once a week, but rotate between a few different stories and characters. Pirates one week. River lifeguards another. Just to keep things fresh. But Dale and the squire will be back soon. :)
It’s rare to find a story on Substack that’s not overwritten, but your tone is hilarious. Let’s me picture the scene and not be distracted by the writing. Well written!

"I am Jerry." Haha. Ol' Dale sure doesn't show his squire much respect. I like you working in potions into the story line. I'm not a big medieval reader but this one's got me hooked. Throw in some good humor into any story and I'm hooked, I guess. Haha. Great stuff, Ricky.

You had me at "insipid beast" hahaha, oh man this was good stuff. The word "Thud." made me lose it completely because I knew what it meant. Dale's reaction...just as expected. He's so tired of the squire's crap...literally too, based on the beginning of the story. 🤣
Thud is a very distinctive sound when a body crashes into a hay covered floor. Thanks, Kayla. I appreciate all the support for me and these silly adventures.
